“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Mission 54 & Honoring the Beginning of a Servant's Journey
The name Mission 54 carries a special meaning. The number 54 represents the year 1954, the year James Nicholas "Nick" Johnson was born.
In 1954, God began the life of a man whose greatest mission would not be measured by titles, accomplishments, or recognition, but by the lives he touched through love, compassion, and service.
From the beginning of his life, God was preparing Nick for a calling to serve others. Nick's life became a mission, a mission to love God first, care for his family, serve his neighbors, and help those who were hurting or forgotten.
He was especially fond of those who struggled because he knew the struggle as a child and throughout his life. He showed that ministry is not limited to the four walls of a building. Ministry happens whenever someone chooses compassion over convenience, generosity over selfishness, and service over recognition. Mission 54 exists to continue that calling.
